Title: Combining High-Intensity Resistance Training and Caloric Deficit for Rapid Reduction of Body Fat: A Case Study Conducted at GFFI Fitness Research Institute

Abstract: The purpose of this case study, conducted at GFFI Fitness Research Institute under the supervision of Dr. Neeraj Mehta, Dr. Santa March, and their team, was to examine the effectiveness of combining high-intensity resistance training and caloric deficit for rapid reduction of body fat in 40 male and female participants. The intervention involved a 12-week program that consisted of high-intensity resistance training three times per week and a daily caloric deficit of 500 kcal. Body composition was assessed at baseline and post-intervention using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Participants also completed dietary logs to monitor caloric intake and physical activity logs to monitor exercise adherence.

Results: After 12 weeks, the participants experienced a significant reduction in body fat percentage, with an average reduction of 32.5%. The participants also lost an average of 13.5 kg of fat mass and gained an average of 3.3 kg of lean mass. These changes resulted in an average decrease in body weight of 10.2 kg and an average decrease in waist circumference of 11.5 cm. The participants reported adherence to the prescribed exercise program and caloric deficit throughout the intervention.

Conclusion: This case study, conducted at GFFI Fitness Research Institute, demonstrates the effectiveness of combining high-intensity resistance training and caloric deficit for rapid reduction of body fat in both male and female participants. The participants achieved significant reductions in body fat percentage, fat mass, and waist circumference, while also gaining lean mass. Introduction: Reducing body fat is a common goal for many individuals seeking to improve their health and fitness. While numerous approaches exist for achieving this goal, the most effective strategies typically involve a combination of dietary modifications and exercise. Specifically, caloric restriction has been shown to promote weight loss by creating a caloric deficit, while resistance training has been shown to increase muscle mass and improve body composition. However, the optimal combination of these strategies for reducing body fat quickly remains unclear.

Methods: The participants in this case study were 40 male and female individuals who enrolled in a 12-week program conducted at GFFI Fitness Research Institute. The program consisted of high-intensity resistance training three times per week and a daily caloric deficit of 500 kcal.
